"Today's Carnival" is a far superior version of the Carnival we once knew. This new take on Carnival has helped Carnival launch itself as a leader in the cruise industry. Carnival has gone and undertaken many upgrades to refine their commitment to all aspects of the "Fun Ship" cruise experience.

Over the past few years many new features have been added to the Carnival fleet in order to create a more upscale feel and ambiance on the ships. From the dining choices, to the new bedding, to the children's programs; Carnival has revamped their image to satisfy all levels of clients' needs and desires.

Some of the new features you will experience on "Today's Carnival" will be:

New Dining Options -

Carnival's Total Choice Dining has become one of the most enhanced services in the cruise industry. From sushi bars to pizzerias to the upscale supper clubs; Carnival has made their Total Choice Dining cruising's most comprehensive dining program. Dinner service has now been expanded to have four-seating times; 5:45pm, 6:15pm, 8pm, and 8:30pm in order to make all guests have a more flexible main-dining option. Carnival has made an exclusive alliance with French Master Chef Georges Blanc. Georges Blanc and his staff create one-of-a-kind signature selections for all the dining rooms and restaurants onboard all Carnival ships. He and his staff also train Carnival's chefs and staff to follow his award winning service and culinary features. 

Guest options will be further expanded this coming year as the new Carnival Splendor and later in 2009 the Carnival Dream enters service. As of today here is a list of amenities that guests can expect on almost every Carnival ship:

The new Carnival Comfort Beds -

A new sleep system which will include the Carnival Comfort Bed with plush comfortable mattresses, luxurious duvet covers, and higher thread-count sheets and pillow cases. A new "suite pillow" menu will now be available for guests in suites, in order to choose their own pillows for a more customized cruise experience.

New Cabin Amenities -

Plush terrycloth robes for all ocean-view cabins

All cabins will have in-cabin amenity baskets with better products for men and women

Carnival's Children Program -

Camp Carnival will cater to more then a half-million children this year alone

Enhancements to the program include activities focusing on reading, art, science, music, geography, and physical fitness.

Climbing mazes have been installed

Games, toys, and arts and crafts areas for the little ones

Outdoor mini-basketball courts, jungle gyms, ping-pong tables, volleyball courts, and shuffleboard for all ages to use

Dining options specifically for children - A special kids menu with children inspired specials; menus are coloring books with crayons to keep them entertained during dining.

Camp Carnival is for ages 2-11 years old

Parents can take advantage of the evening "After Hours" services from 10 p.m. till 12 a.m. After 12 a.m., juniors and intermediates will join the younger cruisers for our Slumber Party service until 3 a.m.

Circle C is for ages 12-14 years old

For the Teens - Teen Club02 will help keep the teenagers active with organized activities for ages 15-17

The teen program includes a "teens-only" club with music, video games, movies and more based on the ship

Dream Class

Carnival Dream – Debuting in the fall of 2009, the Carnival Dream at 130,000 tons and carrying over 3,600 passengers will be the largest Carnival ship ever constructed. Following introductory sailings in Europe of 12- and 16-day Mediterranean cruises, the Carnival Dream will sail year-round 7-day Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral, Florida.

The Carnival Dream will be a new class of “Fun Ship” for Carnival with a host of new amenities found onboard. The new 130,000-ton Carnival Dream will usher in a new era of “Fun Ship” cruising when it debuts in September 2009, offering a host of innovations.

New Features Exclusive to the Carnival Dream will feature:

  • A variety of new stateroom categories, including those specifically catering to families. These new staterooms include the first ever Cove Balcony staterooms that are closer to the waterline for enhanced views, and Deluxe Ocean View staterooms for families featuring a full bathroom and washroom.
  • Carnival WaterWorks Aqua Park, along with the most elaborate children’s facilities at sea, including expansive play areas
  • Scenic Whirlpools that extend over the ship’s sides

  • Representing a new class of Fun Ship, the Carnival Dream will feature the Cloud 9 Spa, a luxurious 23,000-square-foot health and fitness center – the largest in the Carnival fleet. This modern facility will feature the line’s Thalassotherapy pool covered by a glass dome and an elaborate thermal suite. Adjacent to the facility will be 65 exclusive “spa staterooms” on the Carnival Dream – also a first for Carnival.

Splendor Class

Carnival Splendor – Carnival’s newest ship entered service in June 2008 – At 113,000 tons and carrying over 3,000 passengers, it is Carnival’s largest ship in the fleet. The Carnival Splendor sails 7-day Eastern Caribbean sailings out of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. From January to March, 2009, the Carnival Splendor will sail 14- to 18-day cruises in South America. Beginning March 2009, the Carnival Splendor will begin year- round 7-day Mexican Riviera cruises from Long Beach, California.

New Features Exclusive to the Carnival Splendor will feature:

  • Representing a new class of Fun Ship, the Carnival Splendor will feature the Cloud 9 Spa, a luxurious 21,000-square-foot health and fitness center – the largest in the Carnival fleet. This modern facility will feature the line’s first Thalassotherapy pool covered by a glass dome and an elaborate thermal suite. Adjacent to the facility will be 68 exclusive “spa staterooms” on the Carnival Splendor – also a first for Carnival.
  • Serenity - An Adult Only Outdoor Retreat
  • Sliding Sky Dome over the main pool area

During May thru September the Carnival Spirit sails 7-day Alaska cruises every Wednesday doing either a northbound voyage from Vancouver, British Columbia or a southbound voyage from Whittier/Anchorage, Alaska. The Carnival Spirit will also sail select 12-day Hawaii cruises during the months of April and October.
