Jacques Pépin, the noteworthy and celebrated chef, author, and food columnist brings his culinary artistry and legendary cuisine to the ships of the Oceania Cruises fleet. Jacques Pépin oversees all culinary programs including the creation of menu offerings, wine lists, and the training of Oceania’s onboard Executive Chefs. Jacques Pépin is the host of award winning cooking shows on national public television and the author of more then 20 cookbooks. He has also served as the personal chef to three French heads of state including Charles de Gaulle.
As Oceania Cruises Executive Culinary Director, Jacques Pépin has developed a collection of inspired menus that attests to his genius. But Jacques Pépin’s considerable influence doesn’t
end there, as guests will see first-hand as they join him on Oceania
Cruises Regatta on April 4, 2009 for a 14-day voyage from Barcelona to
Istanbul, or on Oceania Cruises Insignia, August 9, 2009 for a 14-day
voyage from Barcelona to Istanbul. Jacques Pépin only participates
in this sailing once a year, and space is very limited due to the overwhelming
desire to be part of this exclusive voyage.
During the three sea days, Jacques Pépin will invite guests to attend eye-opening culinary demonstrations and highly informative wine lectures. Jacques Pépin, who has shared his vast culinary knowledge in more then 20 acclaimed cookbooks, will also graciously be available to sign his gourmet cookbooks. As much as Jacques Pépin’s presence for this cruise will be a highlight, the itinerary on the Oceania Cruises Insignia will be just as enlightening and unusual.

On August 9, 2009 set sail on the Oceania Cruises Insignia
14-day Barcelona to Istanbul itinerary.
Ancient history will become immensely relevant and
thought provoking as you meander through ports such as
Tunisia’s venerable Tunis, where you can tour the ruins of
Carthage, and the restored medieval town of Valletta on
Malta. You will also call upon Egypt’s amazing Alexandria
and Port Said, gateway to the pyramids at Giza, and spend
an evening in Israel’s hallowed Haifa, where there’s time
for an excursion to Jerusalem and Bethlehem. This voyage
ends with a flourish, as well, with a leisurely evening in
glorious Istanbul.

On April 4, 2009 set sail on the Oceania Cruises
Regatta
14-day Barcelona to Istanbul itinerary.
This early-season voyage
calls on many of the spectacular destinations ruled by the Venetian Empire
at the height of its power in the late 13th century. But first, Regatta
stops in Spain’s fabulous Palma de Mallorca, where you may shop
for exquisite, locally manufactured pearl jewelry. Then, once in Italy,
artistry takes a decidedly different form in the fabulous paintings in
Florence’s Uffizi Gallery, in the traditional Gallura wines produced
around Olbia (Porto Cervo/Sardinia), and in architectural landmarks such
as Rome’s infamous Colosseum. Ancient history comes to the forefront
in the latter portion of this cruise, as you visit the medieval stronghold
of Rhodes and spend an evening in Istanbul. Here, don’t miss an
exclusive performance of the Sema Ritual at the Suleymaniye Mosque complex.
