Immigration Requirements Notice for Cruises
Attention Cruise Holidays' Clients,
The United States Department of Homeland Security has enacted the "Border Security Act." Under a provision of this act effective January 1, 2003, cruise lines must begin providing the government with key personal information on all guests in advance of sailing. As you are aware, this information had been collected at embarkation. The advance collection of this information will enable the government to take as many precautions as possible to ensure that the guests and ships are safe.
This Advance Passenger Information System reporting is required of both ships and airlines, therefore these informational requirements are standard for airline and cruise reservations. We are proactively taking steps to ensure that this new process is as simple as possible. The easiest way to provide this key information is to fill out the required registration form as soon as possible.
This form must be completed and promptly filled out on the individual cruise lines' website in order to ensure your documentation process is to continue. The form must be filled out within 30 days. Any delay or failure to provide this information will result in a delay in documentation and/or the denial of boarding with no refund.
Thank you for your understanding. We will try to guide you through this process with as much ease as possible. Please feel free to contact us if you require any further assistance.
In this section you will need to fill out some basic immigration information to make your embarkation at the pier as stress free as possible. Please make sure you have your reservation number, and your passport before you begin.
As of December 31, 2007, PASSPORTS WILL BE MANDATORY for all air and sea travel.
Before filling out your basic immigration information, please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the required travel documents you will be asked to provide prior to boarding the ship. Caution: The requirements described are subject to change by governmental bodies without notice. It is the sole responsibility of the guest to identify all travel, inoculation and health requirements, and to obtain and have available when necessary the appropriate valid travel documents, such as passport, visas and inoculation documents, required for boarding and re-entry into the United States. For your protection, the US government recommends that current passports should have an expiration date no sooner than six (6) months after the last day of a cruise voyage or international trip.
A passport will be required for ALL U.S. Citizens, including children and infants who travel by air and sea in and out of the United States. Any travel to and from Africa, Asia, Australia, Bermuda, Canada, Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe, Mexico, islands of the Pacific, etc. will require passports. All U.S., U.S. Naturalized and Canadian citizens need proof of citizenship when taking a cruise. Passports are a mandatory form of documentation. If you plan to prematurely disembark the cruise, please inquire with Cruise Holidays of Marlboro. For persons other than U.S., U.S Naturalized, and Canadian citizens; Non- U.S. citizens and legal residents, valid passports and visas (when needed) are required except as follows: (1) If an individual is a Resident Alien living in the United States, then the only document needed is the original copy of their Alien Registration Card (ARC or "green card"), and (2) certain Canadian and Mexican citizens who travel with alternative documentation depending on their status in the United States.
Visas/Inoculations: Please check with Cruise Holidays of Marlboro, government agencies, embassies consulates, your physician, the local health department or the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (www.cdc.gov) to determine travel and health document requirements.
Guests who do not possess the proper documentation may be prevented from boarding their flight or ship, disembarking or entering a country, and may be subject to fines. If as a result of your lack of proper documentation, a fine or other cost is incurred, you agree to indemnify Cruise Holidays of Marlboro for such expenses. No refunds will be given to individuals who fail to bring proper documentation.
