Royal Caribbean, the cruise line that delivers the "Wow!", the one that put surfing simulators, rock-climbing walls, ice-skating rinks and other innovative amenities on cruise ships. Whether you've sailed on Royal Caribbean before or have just seen the commercials featuring Iggy Pop's "Lust for Life" blasting on your TV, you may have the sense that Royal Caribbean is not your average cruise line.

With more than 170 destinations worldwide and an amazing array of exciting shore excursions and cruisetour options, Royal Caribbean is reaching out to vacationers eager to try something new - how about glacier-trekking in Alaska, cave-tubing in Belize or biking through the vineyards of Dubrovnik, Croatia.

As the "Get Out There" cruise vacation alternative, Royal Caribbean ships offer itineraries, activities and amenities designed to appeal to every taste, energy level and age group giving their guests the opportunity to create their own adventure. Royal Caribbean guests seem to agree with the philosophy: Royal Caribbean's Crown & Anchor customer loyalty program recently enrolled its four millionth guest.

When Royal Caribbean welcomed the newest additions to their fleet, Freedom of the Seas and now the Liberty of the Seas, they were labeled the world's largest and most innovative ships. Freedom of the Seas was the first of the Freedom-class ships and the first cruise ship ever to feature signature-class amenities such as the FlowRider surfing simulator, a 14-person family suite and cantilevered whirlpools suspended 112 feet above the sea. She was then followed by a sister ship, Liberty of the Seas, with more on the way in years to come.

Royal Caribbean's ships, destinations and amenities aren't the only reasons why Royal Caribbean is a great cruise line. Here are some more reasons why you need to "Get Out There" with Royal Caribbean now!

Portofino - For a romantic evening at sea make a reservation at Portofino, the specialty restaurant offering delicious Italian cuisine. This delightful dining experience is available on the Freedom, Voyager, and Radiance-class ships. Sample some of the chef's creations or have one of your favorites prepared the classic way. Either way, you won't be disappointed. We suggest smart casual attire in Portofino - jackets and ties for men, dresses or pantsuits for women. On formal evenings, formal attire is also appropriate in the restaurant; which includes suits and ties or tuxedos for men and cocktail dresses for women. All guests over the age of 13 are welcome and reservations are recommended; please allow at least two hours for dining. A nominal fee ranging from $20 - $25 USD applies per dining guest, including gratuities.

Chops Grille - Chops Grille is a guest favorite and the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or simply be treated to a fantastic dinner. From filet mignon to mesquite grilled salmon, Chops Grille offers much more than simple meat and potatoes. Chops Grille is featured on the Radiance-family ships, Freedom-family ships, Mariner of the Seas, Enchantment of the Seas and Navigator of the Seas. We suggest smart casual attire in Chops Grille - jackets and ties for men, dresses or pantsuits for women. The cuisine in Jade is influenced by Thailand, Malaysia, China, Japan, Vietnam, India, and Indonesia, which our chefs have developed into exciting new dishes like Tom Kha Gai Chicken Coconut Soup and Ebi Ni Drunken Prawns with sake. Of course, there are also popular favorites, like Shanghai Noodles and Sushi Rolls and to complement your meal, a variety of beverages is offered, including sake, plum wine, green tea, Singapore Slings and Chinese, Japanese and Indian beers.

Seaview Café - Dine outdoors on the Radiance-class of ships at the Seaview Café while enjoying beautiful scenery and fresh ocean air. You'll also find wonderful assorted pastries and cookies to satisfy your sweet tooth. Vermont's Finest Ice Cream is now available at port or at sea! Enjoy a cup or cone of euphoric Ben & Jerry's ice cream, or indulge in a sundae, shake or smoothie. Everyone loves ice cream between meals - but don't worry, we won't tell if you substitute a waffle cone for breakfast!

Room service - Maybe you want to sleep in or just spend a night relaxing in your stateroom; either way, you still have to eat. That's why every ship offers complimentary room service to all guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner, 24 hours a day. The room service menu can be found in your stateroom and offers selections for all meals and light snacks. During certain hours of the day, you can also order from the main dining room menu, just ask for details when you're onboard. Onboard Activities on Royal Caribbean -

Royal Caribbean is an industry leader in innovative, unexpected onboard activities and amenities, from fleetwide rock-climbing walls to surf simulators to state-of-the-art fitness centers and spas to dedicated Internet connections in guest staterooms.

Fitness Activities

Fitness buffs won't miss a workout thanks to the line's fitness centers. The gym complexes appear on all ships and include aerobics studios, cardiovascular and weight-training equipment and dedicated free-weights areas. But that's just the beginning.

Here are some of the other active options cruisers will find on Royal Caribbean ships:

FlowRider - Only Royal Caribbean gives you the chance to surf onboard a ship. The sloped, wavelike surface of the FlowRider is perfect for beginning, intermediate and advanced surfers. And the surrounding stadium seating and bar is great for surveying the wipeouts. Try it out on the Freedom-class of ships.
Rock-Climbing Walls - Royal Caribbean's now-signature rock-climbing walls went fleetwide in 2003. Towering more than three stories high, the walls challenge both beginners and advanced climbers to reach new heights.
Miniature Golf Courses and Golf Simulators - Golf enthusiasts can practice their putting on miniature golf courses found on most ships, or drive it home on a virtual version of one of the world's top championship courses in the golf simulators.
Sports Courts - Whether it's a game of basketball, paddleball or volleyball, the sports courts give guests a chance for a little friendly competition.
Jogging Tracks - Circling the deck perimeters, the jogging tracks offer unparalleled views of the sea and sky while guests are working up a sweat.
In-line Skating Tracks - The line's revolutionary Voyager-class ships feature outdoor, curvy courses to test guests' skating prowess.
Center Ice at Studio B - Guests on Voyager and Freedom-class ships can try out their triple toe loops on the only skating rinks at sea.
Bungee Trampolines - The next "first at sea," Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas gives guests a birds eye view as they soar skyward on the ship's new bungee trampolines.

Relaxation

Royal Caribbean Day Spas offer the ultimate in relaxation. The spas include beauty treatment areas; unisex full-service hair salons; manicure, pedicure and facial facilities; separate male and female changing rooms with access to sauna, steam and shower areas; and a full menu of massage treatments. On many ships, couples can try the couples massage or the Rasul room, which uses purifying clays and a private sauna to revitalize the body. The spas also feature a relaxation room for resting between treatments, and the Radiance-class ships feature a luxurious Thermal Suite - a unique spa suite consisting of heated tile loungers, a steam room, a sauna, an aromatherapy room and two tropical and fog showers. Most ships also feature an adults-only Solarium.
